Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.
Vehicles, building surfaces and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they added.
Police then located multiple other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report early analysis suggest the liquid was likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in relation with the event," they commented.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have appealed to the public for information.
An important official commented the vandalism made him speechless and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at people of immigrant origin in February 2020.
