A person who contaminated treats with tranquilliser and provided them to children at a summer program in the area has pleaded guilty to sexual offences against two boys who were nine and ten years old.
Jon Ruben was taken into custody after eight youngsters and a grown-up became sick at Stathern Lodge in mid-summer.
The 76-year-old, from Ruddington in Nottinghamshire, confessed to a series of 17 offences when he appeared at the courthouse on Friday.
However, he denied one particular crime he was facing, which was concerning a young boy.
Ruben was kept in jail ahead of a further hearing on late November.
'Sweet game'
The prosecutor, handling the case, described Ruben's offending to the court.
She explained his those affected were under-privileged children who were staying at a summer camp which he operated.
Ruben played a "treat game" with the minors, the legal counsel explained, in which he would go into the sleeping quarters when they were preparing to sleep and ask them to ingest treats "as quickly as they can".
She informed the proceedings Ruben had played this game with the young males "repeatedly", and minors had previously fallen ill the subsequent day.
She explained Ruben had been successful in rationalizing this repeatedly as the minors being "overexcited from fun", until his stepchild had concerns in recently.
The prosecutor continued: "In the summer" his stepson had concerns about what was going on, for good reason.
"They chose" to investigate in the man's possessions."
The prosecutor explained objects including lubricant, ointment and injection devices were located, and his family member notified the police about his worries.
She explained the man continued to engage in the "treat game" with six boys that night - July 26th - and they were all ill the next day.
"Law enforcement" had not gone out by that point," she added.
The regulatory agency, the investigative body, had stated that it was investigating Leicestershire Police's handling of the incident.
Mrs Prior said the minors were having difficulty walking due to their condition, so Ruben's stepson notified the law enforcement again.
She said Ruben then played the "sweet game" in a room of five minors.
